In addition to surgery for the treatment of obesity, Mr Hashemi provides an extensive range of services in oesophageal and gastric surgery, including assessment and treatment for patients with hiatus hernia, oesophageal reflux or motility problems including those requiring revision surgeries.
He routinely performs oesophageal and gastric resections as part of the team at the designated Cancer Centre at University College London Hospital of which he previously Head of service. Mr Hashemi was one of only 12 surgeons in the UK who offered the LINX procedure for acid reflux and he performed the first Linx implant procedure carried out in London. He was also the first surgeon in the UK to place the Linx device in a patient after a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy.
