Unknown if the other two are affected by the cap, and I'm not eager to lose more summons trying it again. In this case, it meant trying to solo as an enhancement shaman.
After 6 days of failed attempts I finally got him down this morning, so suffice to say if anyone with some heals or CDs is bored enough, they could probably do it. In my case I tanked Hummel half way up the ramp leading the to next area, and as soon as Baxter came out I sent my wolves on him and had them taunt.
That kept him busy for quite a long time, and when I got frighteningly low due to the apothecaries exploding, I popped my earth elemental. After you down Hummel it's not nearly as hard to kill the other two, just make sure you switch to cologne, kill off Baxter as fast as you can and take your time with Frye. This post wasn't meant to brag, and I know a lot of you probably think it a stupid waste of time to try and solo something like this.
But honestly it was quite a lot of fun :. Comment by Alma MoP update: This isn't "easy" anymore. It's actually closer to near-impossible, because even the meaty voidwalker will get gibbed pretty quickly. Oh well, kudos to anyone who can actually pull it off still. Your day has come at last, for you are the only class that can easily solo this set of bosses. Things to make this as smooth as possible, have ready the following: - Voidwalker dur - Fel Concentration this encounter is going to be easiest as Affliction - PvP gear for the extra health, although you should be fine in decent pve gear too Send the void on Hummel so he sprays away from the central area is a good idea then ignore him for now.
Instead, use your cologne neutralizer and wait for Baxter to attack; wear him down using drain life as your filler spell, drain life will help trivialize damage from the only real threats--exploding apothecaries and surprise pink clouds and make sure to move away when he starts casting chain reaction.
Next, kill Frye and the fight is basically over. Hummel will be a joke, as the void will have so much threat by now, it'll feel like a real tank is on him. You shouldn't even need to use a healthstone or potion, but it never hurts to have them handy. Comment by I'm thinking the trio must me soloable by Retri Paladins using Repentance on Baxter while burning Hummel.
I'll update if this works. Comment by lol I did this on my BM hunter. Not exactly for the MEH geared, but it is really easy. Pet gets over 2k health per 3 seconds with glyph, and pets don't need the neutralizers to not take heavy damage. And Improved Mend Pet cures all the poisons from your pet. Comment by sneaky7 Soloed as 80 level solo-BM hunter. Pet: turtle, used tier5 2.
At first I tried a tact similar to what Surloin sayed here, but very soon I found out that the pet can easily tank both Hummel and Baxter without dying. Actually it would be very easy if not the adds that blow up. It is possible to kill them ofc they have just around hp , but there can be a lot of them at a time and 1 little mistake might cost you BIG.
So through entire fight i was up the stairs, by the door from wich you enter that area don't ever go back through the door during the fight, they'll despawn. It is possible to jump from that spot to the scourge wagon that is nearby. When you are on the wagon, the mobs can still attack you from the ground beneath it, but if you jump between the stairs and the wagon, they ll have to run a long way around to get melee range with you again.
With this tactic it was also necessary to switch perfume and cologne pretty often, as the poison puddle would appear pretty much at the wagon or stairs since i stood there most of the time.
I also tried to keep the frost trap downstairs most of the time, using snakes and explosive trap on occasion, to get rid of some extra mobs. A thing to remember, however, is that FDing while you have aggro from Baxter or Hummel will lead to boss reset - so watch out. Also, a possible trick is to run into a puddle and FD there, while having the proper antidote on.
This can buy some time to wait for cooldowns as long as the pet can handle the mobs. I didn't have to use this one, though - it went quite clear and I only had to bandage a few times and drink a health pot. Ah, 1 more thing: If you get to a spot, wich is unreachable by the mobs, as soon as you gain aggro from one of them they will just port you to themselves instead of going evade mode.
Comment by Toldry You do not need a tank for this encounter, I did this once with a group of 4 shadow priests and 1 holy priest, Me, being a shadow priest, I used the purple potion and Shadow Word: Death to immediatly get aggro on the purple boss, I then just turned around in a way that he wont face the rest of the party. The rest of the party used a green potion and finished off the other two bosses. After you're done just talk to him again and you'll get a little option to prompt, opening the LFG window and enabling you to queue.
Drops necks. There's also two flavour helmets. Comment by t2teddy You know, while I've got max level toons that can complete every seasonal event's achievements, including the seasonal bosses, I have a ton that can't because they're 'too low level. This would be especially interesting for level players because they're about to get their first level of riding! The same with every other seasonal encounter. It's not worth participating. Lowbies deserve perks too, if only to keep them interested in the game and paying to play.
Comment by fatih he drops very nice ilvl necklaces which can be equipped at level Comment by Blizzard did away with easy que for event instances apparently. Currently you have to do the stupid quest chain that Snap Snagglebolt starts, see how wonderously well designed this chain is in comments THEN go to Snap, talk to him, and he brings up the que Comment by Sennrab can this boss, or the box drop the bloody mount? Comment by magux I just did it 6 times and 6 times drop Comment by Gatekus Sigh.
I have been trying to queue for this on my three 83 toons without success. Can anyone else confirm this dungeon is based on reaching level 84 and not the item level of your gear? Comment by Lainea If people are gonna do this event, they need to read up on it. If you choose not to read wtf you're supposed to do, then don't expect a healer to be able to heal 4 people who don't use the potions and have all three of the damage buffs on them.
I literally Smite-healed my party to victory. Comment by Deepfire It is recommended to start the fight nuking him phase where the tank will use Perfume Potion , then go to Baxter , and switch to Cologne and then Frye who has random aggro. Comment by Zapph Confirmed no updated trinkets drops this year , just old blue ones from last year.
Comment by does this guy drop the Toxic Wasteling? Comment by CucumberGH This encounter qualifies for the guild dungeon challenges. I'm a tank, so no waiting around in queue. Of course, you can only get the heart-shaped box once per day. I've never gotten anything but tokens from it, though…. Comment by Laced Currently Hummel drops necklaces. Not sure about anything else. Comment by PheonixRising88 The Love is in the air boss battle drops neckpieces for all classes and specs.
Obviously only one, also the heart-shaped box has a chance this year of dropping a big love rocket mount. Comment by meerling The new versions Feb are now level Comment by Marhault Is this soloable at L90? Comment by JohnKerr Just had this fight glitch but luckily it reset within a few seconds. Four of us began the fight our healer decided to afk after entering and we were down to Frye. It's was like he ran through the wall there and was gone.
We stood around wondering what happened for about 15 seconds when the trio reappeared in their starting positions. We began the fight again the healer finally showed up for the second go around and finished it like normal.
Comment by Goatmon As of , the boss is entirely doable, but I reccomend using the cologne and perfume protection. Hummel shoots perfume, so grab the anti-perfume for him. One of the others attacks with cologne, and the third alternates throwing either one around and is immune to taunting. If you have protection against whichever of the first two you're attacking, you're basically immune to their damage, and can tank them easily.
The third guy is a wild card, and runs around uncontrolled, but his DPS is low overal, so get in there and get your easy epic necklace! Credit to sTyLnK for this information. These neck pieces cannot be Disenchanted. Requires 'Show Helm'. Gender-based placement.
Vile Fumigator's Mask currently cannot be used for Transmogrifying. The Heartbreaker Non-consumable. Can be use on a friendly player, including yourself. Toxic Wasteling This pets' idle animation: consumes critters every 10 seconds.
Grows larger after critter consumption. NOTE : "You can get more than one of these items per box. My source wowhead for the confirmed loot and quoted text. I've also added minor details of each item from corresponding comment sections.
This took forever , scrolling through all of the pages and comments, but I hope it is helpful! Good luck! The subject of this article or section is part of Love is in the Air , a seasonal event that lasts two weeks.
Once the event has run its course, this will no longer be available until next year, but there are no guarantees. Utilize the [ Cologne Neutralizer ] and the [ Perfume Neutralizer ] provided located on a table to the left of the bosses before the boss fight starts.
Both neutralizers apply a 5 minute non-stacking buff which can be changed in combat. Hummel deals "perfume damage" purple aura , which is negated by the [ Perfume Neutralizer ] , while Apothecary Baxter deals "cologne damage" green aura , which is negated by [ Cologne Neutralizer ]. You will also be immune to the matching color damage zones applied by Apothecary Frye. The basic strategy in this fight is to tank Apothecary Hummel and Apothecary Baxter separately , while avoiding the damage zones created on the ground by Apothecary Frye.
You should assign a DPS wearing [ Cologne Neutralizer ] to tank Baxter and hold him away from Hummel, and point him away from the group. Hummel will engage 10 seconds after speaking to him, Baxter engages about 10 seconds after Hummel, and then Frye about 10 seconds after that.
Each boss does minimal melee damage. Baxter and Hummel have a short-range aura dealing around nature damage per second. They also have a channeled frontal cone attack that does nature damage, which also applies a 3 second non-typed damage-over-time debuff. Each also occasionally casts "Chain Reaction", a 3-second cast that does fire damage. This can only be interrupted by stunning attacks. Apothecary Frye randomly tosses vials of both perfume and cologne which create color-coded damage zones on the ground, dealing about damage per second unless you are wearing the matching neutralizer.
Frye is 'untankable', but can be stunned and snared, however he will become immune to these effects if they are chain-casted occur over a short period of time.
Hummel and Baxter should be separated and faced away from each other, so that the others in the group are only hit by one or the other at a time. Frye should be ignored until the other two are dead; melee attackers will have to chase him down if they cannot stun or snare him. A few weeks in this pathetic castle will give us time to work on some new products and let others forget about the unfortunate As well, the first time you defeat this boss, he drops a [ Faded Lovely Greeting Card ] , which starts the quest [80] Something is in the Air and it Ain't Love.
